This project involved 6 sites in total. 50,000m3 of excavation and imported hardfill. 1,500m3 of asbestos-contaminated fill was removed off-site under controlled conditions.

CB Civil provided: Site clearance, Bulk Earthworks, Services and Pavement construction across multiple re-development sites in Christchurch. The sites were built on poor ground conditions including peats, silts and areas with high water tables. Complex floating pavement designs were introduced and innovative Stormwater site retention was employed. There were multiple interfaces with clients, stakeholders and our programme were critical. CB Civil performed strongly across the delivery of Civil works for the packages and offered multiple cost savings in pavement design, re-engineering of fill and time-saving initiatives.

This was a challenging project due to the multiple number of various sites that required re-development. In an Earthquake hit Christchurch programme was critical and conditions challenging.

Working in peat and other poor ground conditions including high water tables CB performed well as the Civil Works contractor.
