24 April 2024, Auckland — Christchurch-founded civil construction firm, CB Civil, congratulates two senior leaders on their appointment to directorships.
Chief Financial Officer Patrick Stevens, and National Operations Manager Greg Wichman have been appointed directors and shareholders of CB Civil. They join Chief Executive Officer and majority shareholder Ben Lawlor, and Fleet Manager Tom Fisher as directors of the Auckland-based firm.
Patrick Stevens joined CB Civil in 2020, guiding the business through the pandemic, and creating a strong company foundation through his commercial and financial acumen. Having worked at professional services firm, KPMG, to his time at Lendlease UK, Stevens has worked nationally and internationally on infrastructure projects, including the A$4.9 billion transformation of Elephant & Castle, London.
Greg Wicham will continue in his role as National Operations Manager, in addition to his directorship. With 38 years of experience in the construction industry, Greg joined CB Civil’s senior leadership team in 2020. He has been integral in setting a quality first culture on-site and empowering staff to drive broader outcomes for clients. Greg’s core strengths lie in the ability to bring client, contractor and stakeholders into cohesive and collaborative units.
“Greg and Patrick have brought a wealth of expertise and operational maturity to CB Civil since joining. Their resilience and stable leadership, in an uneasy economic environment, have been instrumental in growing the CB Civil brand to one that is respected in our industry. Their acceptance of this role highlights a commitment and is a vote of confidence in the company’s growth and long-term strategic direction” says Lawlor.
Meanwhile, Jamie Campbell, CB Civil founder and co-managing director, has stepped away from the company to begin a new chapter in Abu Dhabi.
Campbell began the company in 2013 and has since overseen its growth to a staff of 150 across New Zealand. Over Campbell's tenure CB Civil delivered award-winning work, including the Peacocke Northern Transfer Main Project with Hamilton City Council, which won CCNZ’s Project of the Year.
“Jamie has been an integral part of CB Civil, from building our staff and fostering a strong sense of camaraderie on-site to leading us to major project wins. We are thankful to Jamie for the legacy he leaves at the company and are excited to continue expanding CB Civil’s footprint and growing our home offices. We wish Jamie all the very best." says Chief Executive Officer Ben Lawlor.
