North Canterbury Transport Infrastructure Recovery (NCTIR)

Engaged as a key sub-contractor on the recovery, CB Civil have provided both Project Management and physical Construction services. We have over 25 staff full-time currently working on the project. Our scope has included:
– Slip clearing and remediation
– Rail re-alignment
– Culvert construction and replacement
– Drainage
– Haulage
– Rock breaking
– Installation and construction of concrete sea-wall
– Placing of no-fines structural concrete fill
– Construction of gabion block walls
– Roading
Mangere WWTP BNR Upgrade – Auckland
Client: McConnell Dowell HEB JV Reference: Thomas Jeffered (Project Engineer) – 021530486
The project consists of bulk earthworks of over 150,000 cubic metres of fill, excavating and filling to new clarifiers and screening structures. Installation of inward and outward PE Service lines up to 1.2m in diameter including cast in-situ connections to new clarifier structures. The project also included Installation of site services including Drainage, Water, Air and Power as well as the construction of all roads included footpaths, roads, kerb and channel.
The site has significant site constraints with structural, mechanical, earthworks and services teams working along side each other in tight spaces. This requires significant coordination and planning around progamme. CB Civil initiated a visual programme to manage the interfaces of different divisions and teams within the project.
Programme – the project is on a tight deadline set by the head contractors client, WaterCare. This combined with site constraints meant strict and detailed programme management and delivery on site.
All testing and QA was completed in accordance with the ITP. No failures of any pipelines, or roads were recorded. There were no LTI, MTI’s, or First Aid injuries on site. CB Civil lead the site with near miss and positive safe work notice reports. We pride ourselves on having instilled a positive health and safety culture on site for ourselves and other contractors on site
